Welcome to Waiheke Island

For the last two weeks, I’ve made my home on the gorgeous green Waiheke Island off the coast of Auckland.  Large enough not to induce island fever, yet small enough to be a community, this place has stolen my heart.  Backpackers and travelers come to the island every summer to work, drink, and love life.  Everyone I have met is so accepting of the nomadic lifestyle.  Around every corner is a beautiful beach, a vineyard, and food.  Oh, this is such a foodie place I can’t even save my money because I’m too excited to eat at every single restaurant and winery.  You won’t be surprised Lonely Planet rated my island home as the fifth best destination in the world to visit this year.  I’m still accumulating more wine knowledge by visiting more and more of the thirty vineyards on the island so I will tell you all more about that in the future! Here are some photos to introduce you to where I live.
