Read To Travel Update: Where Have I Been For The Last 3 Months & What’s Next?

I have been looking forward to last Thursday for two years.  Why?  Because Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday on this Earth (and I love Christmas).  Since I missed Thanksgiving at home last year, my excitement levels have been through the roof in anticipation of this week full of family, fun, and feast.

A seemingly endless line of people asked me, “Where the hell have you been?”  Have I been in New Zealand since last year? Am I moving to England?  Have I been on a road trip?  Et cetera la la et cetera.  Here I am to fill in some of the blanks and tantalize you with promises of blog posts to come documenting recent adventures (and old ones as well).

I left New Zealand in… September

During September… I flew to San Francisco and visited loved ones in Connecticut for a few weeks

In October… My partner flew to the USA and we drove from Vermont to South Carolina over the course of two and a half weeks

Afterwards… we moved to Virginia for about a month and a half to work as much as possible and rest with my family

Last week… we returned to Connecticut for a week of Thanksgiving fun

Next up… we are going to England in three days!!

My last three months have been a whirlwind of a time in the USA and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I have been living out of a backpack, taking fuzzy sweaters out of storage, and spending as much time as possible with my huge, loving family.  The last two months have also been dedicated to showing the Englishman absolutely everything there is to experience in American culture (especially how we do it in New England).  What a wild Thanksgiving for him to be a part of for the first time because my family seems to grow more each year!

Some days I am exhausted from the constant go-go-go and the not so constant down time, but I’m just not quite ready to bring this adventure to a halt.  We will be settling somewhere new soon within the next two months, hopefully, and that new place will be home for at least several months.  Endless thrill coming for ya’ll from Read To Travel.  Hizzah! Onward! Upward! Thanks for following along!  If you weren’t reading this I’d just be writing a diary online.
