I Bought a One-Way Ticket to New Zealand
Surprise! I have decided to uproot myself and head solo to the opposite corner of the world for a year. I have a working holiday visa, which will last for one year and I’m dealing with a healthy combination of nervousness and excitement. So far, I have no definite plan other than landing in Auckland with my cameras, a dozen books, and luggage. Living abroad after college is something I have always dreamed of doing and there’s no time to fulfill your dreams like the present. There’s so much I want to do there and so much I want to see (ahem, Hobbiton , wine country, South Island in general) and I would love any and all suggestions/tips regarding New Zealand.
New Zealand has been on my list of places to go for a LONG time and I can’t believe I will be there so soon and for so long. I recognize how fortunate I am to move across the globe by choice and be given a lengthy visa to live and work in another country so easily. I don’t intend to let this opportunity go to waste and promise fill Read To Travel with the best photos, guides, stories, and tips I can compile while in the land of the Kiwis. Follow along on my adventures on Instagram.
How wonderful!!! Looking forward to reading about your experiences in Kiwiland!
If you go to the South Island, definitely check out the Caitlins for wildlife, the Clifden Caves for a good easy exploration (with glow worms!), and Arthur’s Pass for just stunning beauty (just don’t forget to close your car doors – haha; seriously though…the keas will eat them).
Thanks so much for you suggestions I will keep that in mind!
I’m so excited for you! There will be so many awesome adventures ahead and I can’t wait to see! Wishing you only the most amazing fun, food, lessons and people =)
You’re so sweet! Thank you so much. I’m so so excited.
