Finding Light
You may or may not have noticed the silence over here for the last few weeks. Part of that is due to my move back to Waiheke Island where I have been in a constant state of go-go-go. Part is a result of the recent goings-on in the United States.
I have been in a funk. That much I can say.
Regardless of how anyone wanted the outcome of the election to be, I believe many people can agree that some of the events occurring in the US lately are absolutely horrifying.
Every day I have looked above me to find a grey cloud of gloom following me, putting me down. It weighs on my heart to read about what is happening at home, to watch videos, and to hear personal accounts.
The more I read, the more I have wanted to cry. My well of creativity went dry. Inspiration, my good friend, has been nowhere to be found. I haven’t written or picked up my camera in weeks. Until today.
I refuse to let my light fade, my energy die, my spirit be crushed. I remind myself each day that there are incredible people in the world.
My Mary Poppins bag of travel stories, photographs, and book recommendations is bulging with love from American, European, and Pacific adventures. I cannot wait to share them with you. Did I mention I have some South American and Asian contributions in the works as well? Oodles of new material is coming soon.
Watch this space.
